Welcome to the Town of Mancos, Colorado

Where the West still Lives

What's happening in Mancos?

Mancos is a town of about 1,200 people situated in a beautiful river valley on the edge of desert and mountain—the Southwest’s desert and red-rock country meets the La Plata Mountains, San Juan National Forest, and classic Rocky Mountain landscapes. Easy access to both desert and mountain makes this area extremely rich in diversity and recreational opportunities. With Mesa Verde National Park located just outside of town, and many other historical sites in the area, it is a place people travel from all over the world to explore. And, many have chosen to stay and make this place home.

Mancos was incorporated in 1894 after a long history of Anasazi, Navajo and Ute occupation. It quickly became a farming and ranching community. In more recent years, the Mancos population seems to be of all kinds. I meet people from all over the country who have somehow found their way here and just fell in love. There is now a vibrant arts community enlivening the small downtown district, complete with locally-owned shops and galleries. There is a real vibrancy in Mancos today. You can tell straight-away this place is loved by those who live here.

I hope you will embrace what Mancos has to offer, and count on me to not just help you buy your house, but to help you feel at home in this community. I will keep this page updated for that reason, and as always reach out to me for any other questions, leads and curiosities.
